Throughout this
semester in Teaching and Learning with Technology we have amassed TPACK
knowledge that enables us to create eBooks! I have created an eBook that
teaches readers how to knit a scarf! I've used my TPACK knowledge to embed
videos, images, links, and other information into my eBook. This
project was very useful, informative, and fun!
My eBook walks
viewers through casting on, knitting, and casting off. An eBook is a great way
to teach knitting because it allows readers to access all of the embedded
resources in a chronological and user-friendly fashion. Also, unlike a
traditional paper text, an eBook allows a viewer to keep her/his hands free to
knit while watching the videos and reading the text!
I had never
authored an eBook before this tech class. Now, I am really happy to have this
very useful knowledge. I feel confident in my ability to construct eBooks.
Furthermore, I feel as though I could confidently teach others how to create
their own eBooks.
In a classroom,
eBooks would be a great way for students to demonstrate their knowledge
individually and collaboratively. Students will enhance their technological
skills when developing eBooks; students can showcase other curriculum based
knowledge through the creation of eBooks; students can receive instruction
through eBooks; students can feel independence and are offered the ability to experience
self-governed differentiation when working with eBooks.
I am excited to
share this knowledge in the classroom! Please enjoy my eBook!
